Barbara Crowe , MMT, MT-BC is the Director of Music Therapy at Arizona State University. Professor Crowe's personal research agenda includes the historical antecedents of current Music Therapy practice (including shamanic practices) and the newly emerging sound healing and subtle energy practices. She served on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Music, Health and Education and is an interview subject on the video "Of Sound Mind and Body." Professor Crowe has been very active in the American Music Therapy Association over the last twenty-five years. During her tenure as president of AMTA, she participated in a hearing before the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging entitled "Forever Young: Music and Aging," and contributed written testimony to the official hearing record. She served as Chair of the Unification Task Force on Education and Clinical Training, which revised and rewrote the educational standards for music therapists in the United States. Barbara has served as Executive Director of the non-profit organization, Rhythm for Life, from its inception. This organization is a unique coalition of Music Therapists, professional drummers and percussionists, and the music products industry. It promoted Rhythm-Based Music Therapy interventions and community drum circles for the elderly, at-risk youth, individuals in drug and alcohol treatment, and prison inmates.
Barbara is also author of "Music and Soulmaking: Toward a New Theory of Music Therapy," "Implications of Technology in Music Therapy Practice," "Best Practice in Music Therapy: Utilizing Group Percussion Strategies," and "Shamanism and Music Therapy: Ancient Healing Techniques in Modern Practice."
Clive Robbins, CMT/RMT, DHL, DMM is a co-originator of Creative Music Therapy, and the Founding Director of the Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy at New York University, where he holds the appointment of Research Scientist. He has worked with developmentally and multiply disabled children for over forty years.
Through his clinical practice, teaching, supervision, lectures, workshops, writings, and media presentations with Paul Nordoff, 1959-74; Carol Robbins, 1975-96: and subsequently in collaboration with members of his staff, Clive Robbins has become internationally recognized for his teaching of clinical resources, his research into processes of music therapy, and for his commitment to higher standards of clinical practice, creativity and musicianship in music therapy. He continues to travel and teach: in addition to his lectures and workshops in Australia, Europe, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the USA and the UK, he has taught in Brazil, China, Israel, Japan, South Africa, Spain and Taiwan. He is presently involved in guiding the development of a music therapy treatment and training program in Tokyo.
Clive Robbins holds honorary doctorates from Combs College of Music, Philadelphia; Universitat Witten/Herdecke, Germany, and the State University of New York. With Paul Nordoff, he co-authored Music Therapy for Handicapped Children, Therapy in Music for Handicapped Children, Music Therapy in Special Education, Creative Music Therapy , and many books of musical activities for children. With Carol Robbins, he co-authored Music for the Hearing Impaired and Other Special Groups; Snow White: A Guide to Child Centered Music Theatre, and songs and musical plays for children. Together they also edited Healing Heritage: Paul Nordoff Exploring the Tonal Language of Music. Clive Robbins compiled What a Wonderful Song her Life Sang: an Anthology of Appreciation for Carol Robbi ns. He is currently revising Creative Music Therapy and preparing instructional case studies on video.

Barbara Reuer, PhD, MT–BC has 26 years professional experience and is a specialist in wellness and oncology. She received her Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Iowa, Master of Music Education at the University of Kansas, Bachelor of Music Education at Northern State University and became Music Therapist–Board Certified in 1985.
Reuer chose music therapy as a college junior, after completing a Music Therapy for Special Children workshop as a way to honor her younger brother Ronnie, a music lover. Ronnie succu mbed to muscular dystrophy when he was just eight years old . She established a clinical training site at the encouragement of mentor Dr. Alicia Clair, who believed that Barbara had everything that was needed to develop one of few such agencies in the country

Deforia Lane - Resident director of music therapy at University Hospitals of Cleveland Ireland Cancer Center and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. With early intentions of pursuing a singing career she completed her bachelor's degree in vocal performance at the university of Cincinnati College Conservatory of music and began graduate studies at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music. She attended the Cleveland State University for her master's degree and earned her Ph.D. in music education from Case Western Reserve University. She holds board certification as a music therapist and is certified by the National Association for Music Therapy for Faculty Authorization.
Dr. Lane has designed and implemented music therapy programs for such diverse populations as the mentally handicapped, abused children, geriatric clients, behaviorally and psychiatrically disturbed adult and pediatric cancer patients and the terminally ill. Among the institutions that she has served as consultant are the Ohio Department of Mental Health, the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio Hospice Organization and the National Department on Aging.
Some of her many awards include the first grant from the American Cancer Society to investigate the therapeutic effects of music on oncology patients, the Oncology Nursing Society's Mara Magensen Flaherty Lectureship Award and the Cleveland Negro Business and Professional Women Award. In 1994 Dr. Lane received honorary membership into the oncology Nursing Society.
